2017 China GT Teams’ Championship Standings

After two rounds of closely fought battles at the Beijing Audi Goldenport Motor Park, the 2017 China GT season opener ended on a high note. The China GT team would like to thank all the drivers and teams for putting on a spectacular performance. 

GT3 Class: Thanks to Xu Jia and his team mates’ tremendous performance over the weekend, Kings Racing now leads the championship on 63 points, with FAW T2M and Bentley Team Absolute behind in second and third. Placing fourth to sixth are JRM JiaRui-TengDa, Audi HK and Spirit Z Racing. Hard Memory Bentley Team Absolute and D2 Racing are tied in seventh place.

 

GTC Class: The legion of JRM is dominating the GTC Class with JRM Force China leading with 34 points, and JRM JiaRui-TengDa and JRM Elite following suit on second and third. Also in third, JRM’s 2016 rival Spirit Z-Racing. D2 Racing and Xtreme Motorsport takes home fifth and sixth place. Kings Racing and True Visions ties in seventh, and Top Speed comes in last at ninth.

GT4 Class: The Winning Team commands a convincing lead with 51 points in the GT4 Teams standings. From second to fourth are Xtreme Motorsport, ChinaEquity AMR and ZIA FEA Racing respectively. This action packed Beijing race weekend has presented high level of competition to spectators and fans, and gives us a lot to look forward to for the next race weekend in Ordos.

Round 1 Highlights

 

Local star Xu Jia of Kings Racing dominated the field throughout the race and was first to pass the chequered flag with a convincing lead. Team mates Xu Wei/Naoki Yokomizo and Wang Liang/Han Huilin finished fourth and ninth in the GT3 Class, granting Kings Racing a first win in the China GT Teams Championship.

Another solo driver, D2 Racing’s Huang Hsi Chan took home the golden trophy in the GTC Class, and D2 Racing subsequently is the victor of the R1 in the GTC Class of the Teams Championship.

In the GT4 class, the pair of Dutchman Roelof Bruins and Chinese driver Dong Liang of the Winning Team turned pole into a win in the first round in the GT4 Class. As a result, the Winning Team clenched team victory of the GT4 Class.

Round 2 Highlights

 

FAW T2M came up on top in the GT3 Teams Classification in the second round of China GT. Bao Jinlong and Martin Ragginger in the #99 FAW T2M Porsche clenched pole position in qualifying and finished fifth, and team mates Morris Chen and Hiroki Yoshimoto started 6th but ended on the podium in third.

Having qualified on pole on Friday afternoon, Kimi Qin put on a dominant performance in his brilliant purple Spirit Z-Racing Audi R8 on Saturday and turned pole into victory, earning Spirit Z its first team win in the GTC Class.

Roelof Bruins and David McIntyre in the brand new McLaren 570S again commanded the field to finish first in GT4 Class and moving the Winning Team up again in Teams Classification.
